About Us

In April of 1957, a certificate was signed to organize an employee’s credit union for Crossett Paper Mills employees. The credit union started out in a small office inside the main building of the paper mill. Membership was opened in 1970 to Ashley Drew and Northern Railroad, a subsidiary of Georgia Pacific Corporation. Due to growth, in 1978 the credit union purchased another building at 219 Main Street for a larger facility.

The credit union continued to grow and in 1984 Crossett Paper Mills Employees Federal Credit Union merged with Georgia Pacific Employees Federal Credit Union, taking on the employees of the GP Corporation and its wholly owned subsidiaries who worked in Crossett along with GP Plywood Plant and Forestry Department in Fordyce, AR. As the years progressed, staff and membership became larger and the existing credit union establishment was built and completed in July 1999.

The board of directors decided that they should open a branch in Fordyce, AR to serve the existing members who worked at Georgia Pacific Plywood division and the OSB plant. Since the November 2007 opening, CPMEFCU has tripled their membership base in Fordyce.

In early 2011, CPMEFCU once again decided to “branch” out and start construction on another branch in Hamburg, AR.

On April 1st, 2011, Crossett Paper Mills Employees Federal Credit Union changed their name to Timberline Federal Credit Union.  Management, along with the board of directors, felt that the name of the credit union no longer reflected the membership.

On August 9th, Timberline held a Grand Opening Celebration for their newest branch.
